The common valve configurations and requirements of testing Automotive LPG Cylinders

AS:2030 requires that all Gas cylinders be re certified (tested) every ten years by a licensed "Gas Cylinder Test Station"

There are two different valve configurations on automotive cylinders.

"Quadvalve" configuration has a separate service valve, relief valve, gauge and inlet valve. This type of configuration requires replacement of the relief valve and gauge seal, the testing of the service valve, excess flow valve, electric lock off valve, the automatic fill limiter (inlet valve) and leak testing of all cylinder complete with components.

"Multivalve"
configuration has the service valve, relief valve, gauge and inlet valve all combined as part of the one valve. This type of configuration requires replacement of the entire valve, the testing of the service valve, excess flow valve, electric lock off valve, the automatic fill limiter (inlet valve) and leak testing of cylinder complete with new multivalve.
